With convenient ZIP access, Electrical Hazard (EH) certification and ADAPT™ sole technology, the Mack Octane Zip is ideal for electricians and those working in construction - on uneven surfaces and rough terrain. As part of the Mack ADAPT™ range, the MACK Octane Zip has been specially designed to perform in rough terrain with the aim of reducing ankle sprains that are all too common in the workplace. The MACK product development team has spent the past few years working with health and safety personnel of leading industrial companies throughout Australia to gain a comprehensive understanding of their injury profiles and biomechanical requirements in the workplace. This extensive consultation process has led to the design and development of the innovative ADAPT™ range of safety footwear specifically designed to improve adaption to rough terrain. The paradigm changing ADAPT™ range from MACK has been designed with the performance requirements of the foot and ankle on rough terrain as the core design principle. “The design and development process of this range has considered the footwear as a complete structure, rather than developing each individual component separately, this ensures harmonised function from the foot to the ground.” says Dr Caleb Wegener, Footwear Research and Innovation. The ADAPT™ sole unit and upper designs have independent areas of both flexibility and stability based on the specific foot and ankle requirements during each phase of the walking cycle. The lightweight nature of the Mack Octane Zip boots also assist in minimising fatigue at both the localised muscle level and generalised worker fatigue, helping to improve workplace safety and productivity. 21 RHM Magazine - roadhouse.net.au WORKSHOP
