Implant Dentistry Today No 14

Implant Dentistry Today 2 News Despite a very challenging year, Bioconcept Australia has seen a steady increase in market share of the Australian dental implant market. More dentists are discovering the advantages to both themselves and their patients in being able to reduce the cost of dental supplies by over 70% without compromising on quality. This year has also seen the introduction of the very popular Bone Level Tapered (BLT) implant amongst the options now available from Bioconcept. These implants are made of commercially pure grade IV titanium, the raw product being sourced from the same German company that supplies Straumann with its grade IV titanium. The geometry of this implant makes it ideal when immediate placement protocol is being used, or as the go-to implant for clinical cases where ideal primary stability may be in question. The Bone Level Tapered implants (priced at $199) are supplied with a friction grip implant carrier, avoiding the need for the traditional counter torqued device used to place the traditional Tissue Level and Bone Level Bioconcept implants. Clinical tip A very important clinical tip to maximise clinical success with implant supported dentistry is to take a verification periapical radiograph to ensure your impression copings are fully seated. Even though your impression coping feels fully seated, and you have heard that satisfying click, a verification radiograph will every now and then reveal incomplete seating of the coping. If an impression is taken on this flawed relationship between the implant and the restoration, numerous problems may follow. Bioconcept – dramatically reducing costs of implants It therefore makes sense that the impression coping should be completely radiopaque to ensure easy verification of the radiograph. You will note from figure 2 the ideal radiopacity of the (Bioconcept) impression coping, making it simple to confirm complete seating. Compare this to a typical Tissue Level impression coping (figure 3) and decide for yourself which one is easier to read and confirm. n www.bioconceptaustralia.com info@bioconceptaustralia.com Mobile: 0410 511 337 Figure 2 Fig 1 Bone Level Tapered Figure 3 Impression coping O pen wide your appointment books to May 2021 and save the date for ADX Melbourne!
