We have been working hard at Bio Protect during the quiet times over the Covid19 lock down. Many of you have been asking for a finer brush, which has been included in these additions to our range. Information about our surgical masks: – EN14683:2019 Standard (also meets with ASTM F2100-2019 Level 11) 50 masks per box. Before being packed into the box, our masks are packed in a bag with an auto packing machine to avoid handling during manufacturing. Customers can easily open the box and release the masks from the plastic cover and place back into the box for easy retrieval when required. Please note: Our masks are not biodegradable As everyone has encountered, since Covid19 presented itself, masks became an issue. First with there being a shortage of supplies and very quickly, a huge increase in prices followed. We had so many customers asking us to supply them, so, we set out to try to obtain masks. Much consideration and research had to be undertaken first, due to the concerns that arose regarding some PPE in the market being discovered to not be up to standards and not being manufactured and tested to the appropriate standards required. Our supplier worked with us and sourced a professional surgical masks manufacturer with all conformity procedures for EU and US markets in place. The manufacturer works according to very strict directives for exporting surgical masks in order to ensure the safety of medical products and provided all required certificates resulting in our masks being included on the Register of Therapeutic Goods Australia (TGA) Our masks are not biodegradable; however, our barriers and single use plastic items are oxo-biodegradable. Made from EPI approved additives which accelerate the break down time once discarded into landfill. Barriers biodegrade in 1 – 2 years, the harder plastic items take 3-5 years.
