Category 58 AustrAlAsiAn Dentist O nce the decision is made to extract a tooth, clinicians have a decision to make; delayed management – i.e. extract and wait, a staged approach – i.e. graft and wait or immediate implant placement. immediate implant placement combined with a later or an immediate soft tissue support? Also the achievement of an aesthetic implant-supported restoration is a constant challenge to the restorative dentist. Due to the circular shape of the implant and its smaller diameter, when compared to the root of a natural tooth, a dilemma inevitably occurs of how to construct an artificial crown that will imitate the natural tooth crown form. the appearance of the surrounding soft tissue the “transition zone” is of major importance, and various techniques have been developed to guide its topography. the Marginal Migration Concept is a technique, which helps the clinician to guide the tissues in a favourable way in order to achieve a sound and predictable outcome in the Aesthetic zone. this case presentation will highlight this technique that facilitates a more aesthetic, functional and predictable result in implant dentistry, starting with surgery through immediate provisional restoration therapy to the definitive restorations. u Implant Maxillary anterior single implant therapy: the marginal migration concept (MMC) By Dr Konstantinos D.
