6 www.acasociety.com | info@acasociety.com I t’s hard to believe that ACAS2020 in Sydney, Australia was more than five months ago but the whole ACAS team would like to thank the ICC, all of our sponsors, esteemed speakers and most importantly our delegates! The lead-up to the event was incredible, and it only started to sink in 24 hours before when we saw setup crew working around the clock to make the massive exhibition space come to life. Then we had our final stage check and mic check. From there, we knew it was only one more night until show-time. For a very long time in Australasia, the only way to get clear aligner education was via company driven courses. And although there is a need for these courses, they also run the risk of not covering the whole picture. Our 650+ delegates had come from all across the world with a desire to learn about clear aligners honestly and impartially and we wanted to make sure that not only will they learn from the very best, but they will also experience our society ethos in action. Knowing that nobody likes being stuck in check-in lines, we opened registration desks the day before and more than 50% of delegates came in early. Our customer service team was passionate to ensure no- body missed any of our event because of registration issues. Check-in was smooth, hassle free and quick, with delegates also picking up their ACAS2020 goodie bag filled with very cool giveaways. Dr John Hagiliassis (ACAS President) started us off with a spine-tingling opener which highlighted the need for a united profession and supportive community that will encourage each other one rather than put each other down. He spoke about our good fortune in having so many world class speakers and clinicians in Australia/New Zealand, and then it was time to hand it over to these esteemed speakers who jam-packed five rooms simultaneously delivering the best and most current content on clear aligner therapy, practice management and aesthetic and digital dentistry. What an event!
