Category 86 Australasian Dentist CASE 2 The second case using the VISS™, demonstrates the power of visualisation between a restorative, clear aligner solution or both. This technique predictably engages the patient to realise that it’s not necessarily a decision of one or the other but both. The patient presents wanting veneers with an anterior cross bite of her 11, 21 narrow 12 and 22 in proportion to her 11, 21, asymmetrical buccal corridors and a gummy smile tendency. In collaboration with the clear aligner software and VISS™ we provided the patient with choice and collaboration of both a restorative – orthodontic solution. We began with clear aligners first to balance buccal corridors, creating space equally and symmetrically around both 12, 22. This treatment was orthodontically established within 10 months. The VISS™ was then engaged to facilitate a gum lift, restorative solution on the 12, 22 only versus a gum lift and restorative solution for the anterior eight teeth. The patient proceeded with optimal teeth colour and shape after alignment and soft tissue recontouring on the anterior eight teeth.
