The objective of this full day course is to enable participants to become proficient and confident in the administration of Relative Analgesia in clinical practice and provide an efficient introduction to dental Relative Analgesia. The courses are also an excellent refresher for dentists wishing to update their theoretical and practical skills in the delivery of Relative Analgesia. Participants will be given the opportunity to administer nitrous oxide-oxygen sedation to each other, and to experience for themselves the effects of RA in a safe environment. Our presenters will adhere to any COVID-19 restrictions in place to ensure the safety of participants attending this course. Each participant will use a separate autoclavable circuit, we believe we are the only course that provides this standard at this time. We feel that all nitrous oxide courses should provide individual breathing circuits for participances as we would do in our private practice environment. During the morning session our presenter’s Dr Angelo Preketes and Dr Michael Walker provided information on all aspects on the use of nitrous oxide in the dental surgery and its safety & efficacy. The afternoon session gave those attending the opportunity to experience the effects of nitrous oxide for themselves and are instructed on the use of oxygen, nitrous oxide, connecting circuits, fitting nasal hoods and much more. Dr Michael Walker (BDS, FICD, FPFA) has previously provided training in Singapore, New Zealand and throughout Australia. He is a past President and past Treasurer of the Australian Society of Dental Anaesthesiology (ASDA), Dr Walker is the Clinical Senior Lecturer for Diploma in Intravenous Sedation at the University of Sydney, and is also the external examiner for the Intravenous Sedation Diploma at the University of Sydney. Dr Walker has been a credentialed assessor for AHPRA and currently sits on the Dental Board conscious sedation advisory panel. Dr Walker has been a consultant for a number of state health departments for Sedation and Anaesthesia in Dentistry and has been involved with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists consultation committee on PS-09 Guidelines for sedation in inteventional medical, dental or surgical procedures. Dr Walker also runs a very busy full time private sedation practice providing Nitrous Oxide sedation and Intravenous Sedation daily. Dr Angelo Preketes BDS, GradDipClinDent (Oral implants), GradDipClinDent (Conscious Sedation & Pain Control), Fully endorsed dental sedationist and Advanced Life Support level 1 & 2 provider. He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer for Sydney University and a VDO at Westmead’s Oral Health IV sedation department. External examiner for the Intravenous sedation diploma at the University of Sydney. He teaches Nitrous Oxide Relative Analgesia, Anxiety and Pain management, IV Sedation and Medical Emergency Management to Dental Undergraduates and Post Graduate Students.
