Factories had shortages of workers and of raw materials which has led to mayhem for manufacturers and in some cases poor quality of goods. the global supply chain network is experiencing many issues in trying to cope with ongoing demand. During the early days of the pandemic, in 2020, there was a fall in the shipping demand and then a surge at the end of 2021 led to delays, port congestion or operating at reduced capacity and blockages right across the globe. We ourselves, have experienced like many others, that our containers of stock were jammed up in ports. Covid 19 outbreaks have caused continuing shortages of dockworkers and truckers and sometimes ports being placed into lockdown and shutdowns due to covid cases. We are being told to expect more disruption heading into next year and maybe as far as 2023 but no one really knows when the situation will improve. even when your stock items are available, there are then the problems with local freight companies. Orders that are filled and sent via regular freight services are experiencing long delays. the franchise depots are filled to capacity with boxes to be delivered, and struggling to keep up with demand.
