Category 4 Australasian Dentist Sdi’s founder, Jeffery Cheetham oam, celebrates 60 years in the Dental Industry J effery Cheetham started his career in the dental industry in 1960 working for a large US dental company. Jeffery and his wife Pamela founded SDI in 1972 and, what started as a small one man dental manufacturing business grew to a world leading company that is involved in the research and development, manufacturing and marketing of specialist dental materials.All of SDI’s products are manufactured in Victoria, with a focus on composites, glass ionomers and teeth whitening. SDI’s products are sold through distributors and retailers in over 100 countries throughout the world. SDI has offices and warehouses in Chicago, Cologne in Germany and Sao Paulo, Brazil. During his time at SDI, Jeffery has received many awards but the most noticeable was in 2004 when he received his Queens Birthday OAM honours for service to business and commerce through the development, production, and export of innovative dental products. In 2014, SDI Limited was the winner of the Australian Export Awards in the Health and Biotechnology category. In 2016, Jefferywas the national finalist at the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Mr Cheetham recently retired as the Managing Director of SDI and now serves as the Executive Chairman.
