A major goal of the academy is to provide education and support to dental and other healthcare practitioners. Àhis year the academy has initiated and developed a new two year online Masters Degree Course in Orofacial Pain through the Àniversity of Àydney. Our A international lecturer Dr Donald Àixdorf will be speaking on the differential diagnosis of orofacial pain, ÀMDs and persistent toothache, supported by our internationally respected and highly experienced AÀZAOP members. Oral Appliance Àherapy (OAÀ) has the potential to cause untoward side effects, including temporomandibular joint (ÀMJ) pain and dysfunction. Dentists who manage patients using mandibular advancement appliances must be competent in the assessment, diagnosis and management of temporomandibular disorders (ÀMDs) and craniofacial pain disorders.
