Australasian Dentist Issue 93

136 AUSTRALASIAN DENTIST REALITY BITES him into hot pink vinyl while drills and needles flashed and flurried, as the gentle Thai dentist repaired this mighty sculpture of a man. I pictured the nurses, graceful Thai fairies, impeccable in their medical coats, printed with little cartoon puppies and love hearts, bravely tending to this injured Apollo, and desperate to relieve the tension of the encounter by recounting it on text to all their friends and lovers, as soon as he walked out. They had likely never seen anything like Mr Musiq in all their lives. I hadn’t either. He was a work of art, a beautifully wild and towering creation, a gentle-hearted monster. Back at the bungalows the sun set lava red and luscious, as usual, before Mr Musiq’s motorbike could be heard humming along the buxom moonlit curves back down to our resort. I waited patiently for him to stroll past my porch on the way to his wooden cabana, to see if he was a man restored, or a man in recovery from his encounter with the weapons of dental health deployed at Happy Smile. I was afraid that perhaps the Thai dentist had used the chance to see a big man humbled, or that things had gone wrong at the backstreet clinic, or that Mr Musiq would carry the trauma of the visit for days before he could shake off the flashbacks and the stress. He did not pop by to give me the news. He made straight for his door, kicked off his flipflops and lit up a cigarette. The fragrant smoke hoola danced on the last light of the day. A moment later there was a flash of machete lit by golden moon, a confident clunk high up in the banana palms and two neon blue beams of light broke through the velveting dusk. The last vision of that day was a glorious man, higher than a mountain, proud chested as a lion, glowing in a cotton waistcoat that fell about him like a marble toga, hauling a limb of radiant bananas to leave upon my perch, and Happy Smiling with the beauty of a well- loved grand piano. u get some cash flow back – and this includes any residential loan obligations, as you may require an overall debt restructuring, potentially consolidating all debts to a single lender.
