CATEGORY 10 AUSTRALASIAN DENTIST EVENTS The Australian Dental Congress (ADC), hosted by the Australian Dental Association, has always focused on providing high-quality learning opportunities, which not only address the current knowledge and practices of the day, but which equip delegates for where dentistry will go next. Among a superlative roster are international keynote speakers: u Dr Jason Smithson, United Kingdom, who maintains a specific interest in direct composite resin artistry and minimally invasive ceramic restorations. u Dr Marta Revilla-León, United States of America, a specialist in digital dentistry, whose focus is on topics such as facial and intraoral scanning methods and artificial intelligence for dental applications. u Professor Hom-Lay Wang, United States of America, whose research focuses on guided tissue/bone regeneration in attempts to repair and/ or regenerate various periodontal and implant-related defects as well as oral plastic surgery. u Dr Victor Clavijo, Brazil, retains a keen interest in clinical care in addition to considerable academic pursuits which includes work both at home in Brazil and abroad. Joining these four international presenters are four Australian keynote speakers: u Professor Paul Abbott, whose main research and clinical interests revolve around dental traumatology, tooth resorption, and the diagnosis and management of pulp, root canal and peri-radicular conditions. u Associate Professor Sue Ching-Yeoh, whose clinical interests include disorders and vesiculobullous disease, odontogenic and salivary gland pathology, among others. u Dr Steven Naoum, whose research work has encompassed a range of areas including patients undergoing orthodontic maxillary expansion and oral health programs in rural and remote areas. u Associate Professor Ramesh Balasubramaniam, an oral medicine specialist with expertise in temporomandibular disorders, orofacial pain and dental sleep medicine. The presentations from these eight speakers and 42 additional speakers represent the leading subject matter experts from a range of dental disciplines, offer a diverse and enriching range of learning opportunities over three highly informative days. With topic areas ranging from AI & digital dentistry and special needs dentistry and paediatrics through to orthodontics, prosthodontics and dental sleep medicine & TMD, the program provides a compelling look at where dentistry is headed, bringing ADC2025’s theme of “Educating for excellence” vibrantly and compellingly alive.
