CATEGORY 62 AUSTRALASIAN DENTIST CLINICAL (all Ivoclar Vivadent, Liechtenstein). The occlusion check-up was conducted using 12 μm articulating films (Bausch, USA). Necessary arrangements were done using a high-speed handpiece, after which the occlusal surfaces were polished using a two-step ceramic polishing system (OptraGloss, Ivoclar Vivadent, Liechtenstein). The final profile of the happy patient can be seen on picture 22. Conclusion Metal-free ceramics are used worldwide as a synonym for aesthetic restorations. However, in addition to aesthetic requirements, functional demands often require high-strength materials, which can withstand high occlusal forces in certain areas. In this context, wide-span bridges, with two pontics or splinted bridges place high demands on metal-free ceramic restorations. Fortunately, the mix of 3Y-TZP and 5Y-TZP zirconia powders enables an intriguing combination of strength and aesthetics. Involving GT-Technology, materials such as IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime provide a reliable and highly aesthetic alternative to old fashion metal-ceramic reconstructions. u The dental restorations were made by DT Ivan Unfeter Fig. 18: Final 3Y/5Y zirconia restorations on the model, in combination with layering composite in gingival area. To achieve both high strength and high aesthetic requirements, IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime was used (Ivoclar Vivadent, Liechtenstein). The IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime discs are the material of choice for this type of indication. In addition, this material offers the option of layering on the substructure, in this case, with pink composite to achieve red aesthetics in the gingival area (SR Nexco, Ivoclar Vivadent, Liechtenstein). The aesthetic properties of the final restoration can be seen in the pictures 18 – 20. The single crown was also made out of the IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime, while the premolar veneer was facricated out of the lithium-disilicate glass ceramic IPS e.max CAD (Ivoclar Vivadent, Liechtenstein). Due to its light-optical and other material properties, this material is ideal for the production of veneers, among other restoration types. All restorations were cemented with Variolink Aesthetic DC (Ivoclar Vivadent, Liechtenstein). The purpose of using a composite cement for cementing zirconia crowns is to achieve a reliable, aesthetic marginal adaptation, rather than just high retention properties (Fig. 21). The zirconia restorations were pretreated with Monobond Plus, the etchable lithiumdisilicate veneer was treated using Monobond Etch&Prime, while the teeth surfaces were treated with Adhese Universal Prof. Dr. Danimir Jevremovic University Business Academy School of Dentistry Žarka Zrenjanina 179 26000 Pancevo, Serbia
