CATEGORY 72 AUSTRALASIAN DENTIST CLINICAL Figures 22 and 23 show the 6 months post-operative clinical and X-ray pictures. Again, there was no periapical radiolucency observed. Tooth vitality tests confirmed that the tooth is intact and stable, with positive response to cold and without spontaneous pain or any discomfort. Conclusion This clinical case highlights the successful use of vital pulp therapy in a young adult patient through the application of MTA vpt as a direct pulp capping material, VisCalor bulk as a thermo-viscous biobase, and a lithium disilicate crown (IPS e.max) crown as the final restoration. This conservative approach preserved pulp vitality in a severely carious mandibular molar, thereby avoiding the need for endodontic treatment. The combination of vital pulp therapy and adhesive restorative materials with favourable handling properties contributed to a predictable clinical outcome and provided a stable foundation for a long-term indirect ceramic restoration, ensuring both functional and aesthetic rehabilitation. This case emphasises the importance of minimally invasive treatment strategies and careful material selection to preserve tooth structure, maintain function, and support patient acceptance of comprehensive oral rehabilitation. u Correspondence to: Dr. Alejandra Darrás S.
